New Year's Day

Ascension Day
Also known as the Feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, Ascension Day commemorates the Christian belief in the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. It falls on May 9, 2024.
National Day
Swiss National Day, observed on August 1, 2024, celebrates the founding of the Swiss Confederacy. In 1291, three Alpine cantons, Schwyz, Uri, and Unterwald, swore the oath of confederation. They signed the Federal Charter in early August, which was considered the foundation of the Old Swiss Confederacy.
Christmas Day
Christmas Day is celebrated on December 25, 2024, and commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Christmas Day is a holiday of sharing. People exchange Christmas gifts and cards with families and friends.
