Wesak Day, also known as Buddha Purnima, Buddha Jayanti, or Buddha's Birthday, is a holiday observed in South and Southeast Asia. According to the Hindu calendar, it falls on a full moon day in Vaisakh, around April and May each year.
Wesak Day commemorates the birth of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who became the Gautama Buddha later. Buddha Purnima was the founder of Buddhism.
