Constitution Day (Mexico)

Constitution Day is a public holiday in Mexico, observed on the first Monday in February each year.

Constitution Day commemorates the day when the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States (Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos) was approved by the Constituent Congress on February 5, 1917.

Mexico's constitution was drafted in Santiago de Querétaro, the largest city in Querétaro, following the Mexican Revolution. The constitution is the most important legal document which contains the rights and obligations in the country and the Mexican Constitution includes the economic, social, and cultural rights for Mexicans.
