Buddha's Birthday is a public holiday in South Korea, and it is observed on the 8th day of the 4th month according to the Korean lunar calendar.

Buddha's Birthday is called Bucheonim osin nal (부처님 오신 날 ) in Korean, which means the day when the Buddha came. Buddha's Birthday is also a holiday known as the lantern festival, and lanterns are hung in the temples, homes and in the streets during the holy month.

On Buddha's birthday, many temples provide free meals and tea to visitors and organize the lantern festivals. Buddhism is a popular religion in South Korea, and it is estimated there are 10 million followers. Buddha's birthday has been a public holiday in South Korea since 1975.
