Sarawak Governor's Birthday

Sarawak Governor's Birthday is a public holiday in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, and it is observed on the second Saturday in October.

Abdul Taib Mahmud is the current and 7^th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, who was born on May 21, 1936, and has been the Governor of Sarawak since March 1, 2014.

The state of Sarawak and 3 other states (Malacca, Penang, and Sabah) are not constitutional monarchies and they are ruled by governors. The governors are appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, and many of them are reappointed after the first term.
