Korean Children's Union Foundation Day is a public holiday in North Korea on June 6 each year. The holiday celebrates the anniversary of the Korean Children's Union, founded on June 6, 1946, by Kim Il-sung, the founder and Eternal President of North Korea.
The Korean Children's Union is a political organization for children aged six to fifteen. It is the precursor Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League of North Korea, the main youth organization in North Korea. Children aged fifteen or older without party members can join the League, a political organization linked to the Workers' Party of Korea.
