Daeboreum

Daeboreum is a public holiday in North Korea, and it is observed on the 15th day of 1st lunar month each year.

Daeboreum is an ancient Korean festival that celebrates the first full moon after Korean New Year, and it is the Korean version of the Lantern Festival.

One of the traditional celebrations is to build the Daljip, which is a large bonfire with straw or fresh branches. When the full moon rises, people set the Daljip on fire to pray for good luck in the coming year. Koreans believe the year will be prosperous if the Daljip burns well and not if the Daljip does not burn well.

The following is the list of Daeboreum from 2022 to 2026.
