Qingming Festival

Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day or Qing Ming Jie, is a traditional Chinese festival observed in China and Southeast Asia. It is observed on the first day of the 5th solar term of the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar, which is the 15th day after the Vernal Equinox.

Because Vernal Equinox falls on 20 or 21 in the 3rd lunar month, Qingming Festival will fall on 4 or 5 in the 4th lunar month.

During the Qingming Festival, people visit and sweep ancestral tombs, and make ritual offerings, which typically include food dishes, fruits, and the burning of joss sticks, joss paper, and spirit money. Many people also bring flowers.
