Labour Day in China is a national holiday observed on May 1 each year.

Labour Day is a holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day originates from the eight-hour day movement, which is eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.

In China, the holiday lasts 5 days, from May 1 to May 5. If weekends fall on these days, the near weekends will be borrowed as working days.
