Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day or Qing Ming Jie, is a traditional Chinese festival observed in China and Southeast Asia. It is celebrated on the first day of the 5th solar term of the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar, the 15th day after the Vernal Equinox.
Because Vernal Equinox falls on 20 or 21 in the 3rd lunar month, Qingming Festival will fall on the 4 or 5 in the 4th lunar month.
During the Qingming Festival, people visit and sweep ancestral tombs and make ritual offerings, typically food dishes, fruits, and the burning of joss sticks, joss paper, and spirit money. Many people also bring flowers.
