Liberation Day (Netherlands)

Liberation Day is a public holiday in the Netherlands, and is observed on May 5 each year.

Liberation Day marks the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II. The Netherlands was invaded and occupied by Nazi German in 1940 even the country declared neutrality. In 1944, most of the south was liberated, and on May 5, 1945, the whole country was liberated.
