The Battle of the Falkland Islands was fought between the British Navy and German Navy on December 8, 1914, in the South Atlantic. German battlecruisers, under the lead of Admiral Graf Maximilian von Spee, attempted to raid the British supply base at Stanley in the Falkland Islands. However, the British battlecruisers squadron arrived at the port before the battle started, and the British were faster and better equipped than the German battlecruisers.
The battle started in the morning and lasted for the whole day. 2 German armored cruisers, 2 German light cruisers, and 2 German transports were hunted down and sunk by the British Navy, and the British won the battle.
