Youth Day (Morocco)

Youth Day is a public holiday in Morocco, and it is observed on August 21 each year.

Revolution Day commemorates the efforts of Moroccan people, especially the youth of Morocco, against French colonial rule in achieving the independence. The holiday first celebrated on July 9, which is the birthday of crown prince Moulay Hassan, who became the King of Morocco in 1961. When Mohammed VI became the King of Morocco in 1999, the celebration moved to August 21, King's birthday.
