Vincy Mas (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines)

Vincy Mas is the Carnival in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the biggest celebration on the island. The last two days of the festival are public holidays of Carnival Monday and Carnival Tuesday, which are usually observed on the first Monday and the following Tuesday in July.

The holiday was originally celebrated the night before Lent fasting, which lasts 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter, excluding Sunday in the Christian churches.

However, Carnival is to celebrate the slavery abolishment in many Caribbean countries. As a result, many Caribbean countries observe the Carnival celebrations in July or early August to commemorate the anniversary of when slavery being abolished on August 1, 1834.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an island country in the Caribbean Sea. Like other Caribbean countries, the Vincy Mas Carnival in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines hold many celebrations and events. It combines color, costumes, music, dancing, and alcohol. The Carnival attracts thousands of tourists to join the crowd, which is important to the country's economy.
