How to Start Page Numbering from Any Number in Word

When adding page numbers to your word document, the page number by default will start from page 1. However, you may want to change that and start page numbering from a different number. For example, you have a very long file with different sections and you have separate it into different sections. You can start the page numbering for the second section with a number right after the first section.

Step 1: Click the "Insert" tab from the ribbon;

Step 2: Click "Page Number" from the "Header&Footer" area;

Step 3: Select the page number location and format from the drop-down list;

Step 4: Right-click the page number on the first page of the section and select "Format Page Numbers";

Step 5: In the dialog box, type in the page number you want, e.g., 201;

Step 6: Click "OK" at the bottom.
