Queen's Birthday is a public holiday in the Solomon Islands, and it is observed on the second Friday of June each year. The holiday is to celebrate the birthday of the monarch, however, the date is the Queen's official birthday, which may not be the monarch's actual birthday.

The Solomon Islands is an island country located in the Pacific Ocean. People began to inhabit the islands thousands of years ago. The first European contact took place in 1568, and more people especially whaling vessels started to regularly visit the islands for food and water in the 18th century.

In 1886, Germany annexed the northern Solomon Islands and in 1893, the southern Solomons became the British protectorate. However, in 1900, Germany ceded the northern Solomon to Britain. The Solomon Islands sought to prepare the self-governance and independence with the decolonization sweeping after World War II. The Solomon Islands gained full self-government in 1976, and independence on July 7, 1978. As a result, the Solomon Islands celebrates Queen's Birthday as one of the public holidays.

Queen's Birthday celebration first started in 1788 marking the birthday of the King of Great Britain, and it was observed on the actual birthday in the beginning and changed to the second Monday in June in 1936 after King George V died. However, the celebration day was observed on different days in different countries and the Solomon Islands celebrates Queen's Birthday on the second Friday in June.
