President's Day (Botswana)

President's Day is a public holiday in Botswana, and it is observed on the third Monday of July each year.

President's Day is the holiday in honor of the current President in Botswana.

Mokgweetsi Masisi is the fifth and current President of Botswana, who was born on July 21, 1962. He was sworn in as the fifth President of Botswana on April 1, 2018, Preceded by Ian Khama, the second child of Sir Seretse Khama.

Botswana gained independence on September 30, 1965, and had 5 Presidents:

  • Seretse Khama was in office from September 30, 1966 to July 13, 1980;
  • Quett Masire was in office fromJuly 18, 1980 to March 31, 1998;
  • Festus Mogae was in office from April 1, 1998 to Apr 1, 2008;
  • Ian Khama was in office from April 1, 2008 to April 1, 2018;
  • Mokgweetsi Masisi is in office from April 1, 2018 to Incumbent.
