The Federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was founded on December 2, 1971, when the six emirates Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, and Fujairah agreed to unite as one country. On February 10, 1972, the seventh Emirate, Ras Al Khaimah, joined the United Arab Emirates.
National Day is a celebration day for everyone, and schools and most businesses are closed. The celebrations such as fireworks and dancing are held across the country.
