How to Merge Cells without Centering the Contents

In Excel, merge and center are mostly used but you can merge cells without centering the contents. For example, if you merge cells with text and you want to align the text left. Please follow the steps below for details:

Step 1: Select the cells or area you need to merge;

Step 2: Click the "Home" tab from the Ribbon;

Step 3: Click the small triangle after the command "Merge&Center";

Step 4: Select "Merge Cells" from the drop-down list;

Step 5: A reminding warning "Merging cells only keep the upper-left value and discard other values" will appear;

Step 6: click "OK" if you are fine with the merge.
