1. To enter a fraction with integer
Step 1: Select a cell in the worksheet (e.g., A1);
Step 2: Type all numbers and signs with the order: integer, space, nominator, and denominator (e.g., 2 3/5);
- Type "2 3/5" in the order: "2", "space", "3", "slash", then "5";
Step 3: Press Enter key from the keyboard to finish the data entry.
2. To type a fraction with no integer
To type a fraction with no integer, you will need to type 0 first, otherwise, the data entry will turn into the date. For example, 4/9 will automatically change to "9-Apr" in Excel.
Step 1: Select a cell (e.g., A1) in the worksheet;
Step 2: In the cell, type "0 4/9" in the order below: "0", space, "4", "slash", then "9";
Step 3: Press Enter key from the keyboard to finish data entry.
