Date in Excel by default is the month, day and year. There are many different display formats such as long date, short date… whatever the format you selected, the Excel preferred format in formula bar will not change. Please see the steps below for details:
Step 1. Select the cells with dates;
Step 2. Right-click and select "Format Cell" in the dialog box;
Step 3. In the "Format Cells" window, click "Date" from the list on the left and select the date format on the right;
Step 4. Click OK, the date will turn to the format you selected (e.g., March 14, 2012).
