Holi (or Rangwali Holi, Dhuleti, Dhulandi, Phagwah) is a gazetted holiday in India. It is celebrated in the month of Phalguna according to the Hindu calendar, which is March in the Gregorian calendar.
Holi celebrates the end of winter and the arrival of spring. Holi is a festival of colors, and people celebrate the holiday by throwing colored powder into the air or splashing them on others. Holi festival starts the night before, which is the festival of Holika Dahan.
