Yaoshang, or Doljatra, is a regional festival in the state of Manipur, India, which is also known as the "Holi of Manipur" because of its similarity with the Holi festival. Yaoshang is observed on the full moon day of the month of Lamda, which is the last month of the Manipuri Lunar calendar.
The word "Yaoshang" means "the sheep hut" in the Manipuri language, and one tradition celebrating the festival is to burn the thatched hut made of hay and bamboo.
Yaoshang is a colourful festival, also known as the festival of dancing and sport. The festival usually lasts 5 days with lots of joy.
