Full Moon of Kasong, also known as Buddha Jayanti or Buddha Purnima, is a public holiday in Myanmar, and it falls on a full moon day in the month of Kasong, the second month in the Buddhist calendar.
Full Moon of Kasong commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of Gautama Buddha, the religious leader from Ancient India. He was the founder of the world religion of Buddhism.
