Commemoration Day, also known as Martyrs' Day, is a public holiday in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and it is observed on December 1 each year.
Commemoration Day recognizes the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs who have given their lives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and abroad in civil, military, and humanitarian service.
On August 19, 2015, November 30 was first declared as a national holiday of Martyrs' Day in memory of those who died for the country during their duty. The holiday was changed to December 1 in 2019.
