Czech Statehood Day

Czech Statehood Day, also known as St. Wenceslas Day, is a public holiday in the Czech Republic, and it is observed on September 28 each year.

Czech Statehood Day commemorates the martyrdom of Czech Prince Wenceslas, who his brother assassinated on September 28, 935.

In September 935, Wenceslas's younger brother BoleslavĀ invited him to a feast, and when he arrived, a group of nobles allied with Boleslav stabbed him to death.
