Wangala Festival, also known as The Hundred Drums Festival, is a regional holiday in the state of Meghalaya, India. Different villages often set up varying dates in the months from September to December.
Wangala Festival is a harvest festival in honor of the Sun god and marks the end of a period of hard work, which brings good output of the fields. During the festival, people perform dances, play traditional songs with drums and flutes.
