It is good to have the desktop message notification on so you will know right away when a new message arrives. Desktop notification allows Gmail to display popup notifications on your desktop when new email messages arrive. In Gmail, you have options for all new messages or only important message. Please see below for details:
Step 1: Log in to your Gmail account (please refer here to open one if you do not have an account yet);
Step 2: In the Gmail account, click the "Setting" button from the right-top corner;
Step 3: Click the "See all settings" command from the drop-down list;
Step 4: Click the "General" tab in the settings menu;
Step 5: Scroll the cursor down to the "Desktop notifications" section, and select one of the 3 options:
- New mail notifications;
- Important mail notifications;
- Mail notifications off.
Step 6: Move to the bottom of the page and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom;
