St. Joseph's Day is the principal feast day of Saint Joseph in Western Christianity. It is a public holiday in Colombia, and it is observed on the Monday on or after March 19.
St. Joseph is the husband of the Virgin Mary and stepfather of Jesus Christ. Joseph found Marry was pregnant and knew the child was not his after they were engaged. Being a caring man, he sent Mary away quietly to avoid her being hurt because women accused of adultery could be stoned to death. However, Joseph took Mary home as his wife when an angel told him in a dream that the baby is from the Holy Spirit, and he will save his people from their sins.
