Royal Queensland Show

The Royal Queensland Show is an agricultural show held at the Brisbane Showgrounds, which is located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It starts on the first Friday in August if the first Friday falls on or after August 5, otherwise, it starts on the second Friday in August.

The Wednesday during the Royal Queensland Show is observed as the regional holiday in the Brisbane area.

The 10 days' Show has been Queensland's principal agricultural exhibition since 1876. As the largest annual event in Queensland, it attracts about 400,000 visitors each year.

In the past over 100 years, three annual shows have been cancelled:

• In 1919, the Exhibition was cancelled due to the Spanish Flu epidemic;
• In 1942, the Exhibition was cancelled during World War II when the grounds were used by the military;
• In 2020, the Exhibition was cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
