Parsi New Year

Parsi New Year, also known as Nowruz, is a festival observed by the Parsi community around the world. The festival marks the beginning of the Iranian calendar.

In Persian, the word "Nowruz" is a combination of Persian words "Nav" and "Ruz", where "Nav" means "new", and "Ruz" means "day". The combination literally translates to "new day". 

Parsi New Year is celebrated in March in most parts of the world, however, the Shahenshahi calendar is followed in the Indian subcontinent and the calendar doesn't account for the leap years, that is why Parsi New Year arrives 200 days later, in August.
