National Day, also known as Grand Duke's Official Birthday, is a public holiday in Luxembourg, and it is observed on June 23.
National Day celebrates the birthday of the monarch birthday, although June 23 has never been the actual birthday of any ruler of Luxembourg. The celebration date was celebrated on different days under different rulers, and it was fixed on June 23 by the Grand-Ducal decree in 1961.
