Mother's Day (Samoa)

Mother's Day is a public holiday in Samoa, and it is observed on the Monday after the second Sunday in May each year.

Mothers' Day is a holiday in honor of motherhood, as well as celebrating the important contributions of mothers to families and communities. People celebrate Mother's Day in different forms and on different days around the world. The original celebration can be trackback to the ancient Greeks and Romans, while the modern Mother's Day celebrations started in the United States in the early 20^th century.

The modern Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1907, when Anna Jarvis, the founder of Mother's Day in the United States, held a memorial for her mother, and the holiday was observed in most states in 1909. It was then adopted by other countries including Samoa.

Mothers' Day is a chance for children to tell mom how much they love her in many different ways. During the holiday, families will attend churches with special services, and children will give mothers small gifts and cards.
