Kali Puja, also Shyama Puja or Mahanisha Puja, is a regional holiday in India, and it is observed on the new moon day of the Hindu month Kartik.
Kali Puja is an important Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Kali in eastern parts of India. The festival also coincides with the Diwali festival, so people in other parts of the country worship Goddess Laksmi on the same day.
