How to Insert a Slicer to Pivot Table

The slicer is one of the best ways to quickly filter your Pivot Table to show different data scenarios. For example, we have the Pivot Table below, and we want to add the slicer of "Region" (please download practice data here).

Step 1: Click any cell in the Pivot Table;

Step 2: Click "PivotTable Analyze" Tab in the Ribbon when working with Excel 365;

  • The "Analyze" Tab if Excel 2019 or the "Options" Tab if Excel 2010.

Step 3: Click "Insert Slicer" command in the "Filter" section;

Step 4: In the new window, select the variable or variables that you want to be slicers, e.g., "Region";

Step 5: Click "OK" at the bottom, and you will see the slicer in the worksheet.
