Holidays in Belarus 2026

There are ten public holidays in Belarus in 2026, three of which fall on weekends.

New Year's Day
New Year Holiday is the first day of the year on the modern Gregorian calendar, and it is one of the most popular holidays in the world. The holiday lasts two days in Belarus, January 1 and 2, 2026.

International Women's Day
The holiday is one of the most important days to recognize women's achievements and raise awareness about women's equality. It is observed on March 8, 2026.

Radonitsa
In ancient times, the Slavs had a tradition of visiting family members' graves during the spring. They bring food and drink and feast with them beside the graves. After they became Christianity, the tradition was kept with the new name of Radonitsa, which means "joy", stemming from the Christian belief in Jesus' Resurrection after his crucifixion. In 2026, it falls on April 21.

Labour Day
Labour Day is celebrated on May 01, 2026 celebrating the achievements of workers. The holiday originates in the eight-hour day movement, which is eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.

Victory Day
Victory Day is observed on May 09, 2026, and commemorates the anniversary of when the German Instrument of Surrender was signed. It was a legal document that effected the extinction of Nazi Germany and ended World War II in Europe.

Independence Day

October Revolution Day
October Revolution, also known as Red October or the October Uprising, occurred on November 7, 1917 in the Gregorian calendar on October 25 on the Julian calendar. This is also why the revolution was named October Revolution. In 2026, it falls on November 7.

Christmas Day
Christmas Day commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Christmas Day is a holiday of sharing. People exchange Christmas gifts and cards with families and friends. The holiday is observed on December 25, 2026 in Catholic churches.
