Hartalika Teej is a regional holiday celebrated in many parts of India and Nepal, and it is observed on the third day of the bright half of the North Indian Lunar month of Bhadrapud.
Hartalika Teej is celebrated to mark the day when God Parvati was united and married with God Shiva. Married women fast on the day of the festival seeking the wellness of their husbands and children.
