Coronation Day is a national holiday in Thailand, observed on May 4 each year.
Coronation Day celebrates the anniversary of the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, the current and also the 10th King of Thailand. He was born on July 28, 1952, and was expected to ascend to the throne after his father's death on October 13, 2016. He asked for time to mourn and the coronation took place on May 4, 2019.
