The watermark by default is designed as a background to remind the most important thing that needs special attention. However, if you think the watermark in the background cannot bring enough attention, you can bring the watermark to the front.
Step 1: Insert a watermark following the steps here (you make yourself a watermark with WordArt);
Step 2: Double click the header of the word file, right click and Cut the watermark;
Step 3: Click anywhere the text body, and paste the watermark in the text body;
Step 4: Click on the watermark, and you will see the "Layout Options" icon, and select "In front of Text" option;
Step 5: Move around the position of the watermark.
Please note that, this is only to apply the watermark on ONE page. If you have multiple pages, you need to paste the watermark on each page. One of the easier method is to shrink the page size, so you can see many pages one one screen (holding the ctrl key and scroll down the mouse).
If that is not the method you need, you can also wrap the text around the watermark, and some of the options may have the similar results, please see below for more details:
Step 1: Double click the header of the word file and move the cursor in the header;
If not yet have your watermark in the word file, please refer to how to insert a watermark;
Step 2: Hover on the watermark and click on it when the cursor turns into a black cross;
Step 3: Now moving points appear around the watermark:
– The green dot is to change the angle;
– The gray dots are to change the size; and
– The yellow dot is to change the italic degree.
Step 4: Double-click on any one of the dots and the "Format" tab will display in the ribbon;
Step 5: In the "Format" tab, click "Wrap Text", then click "Tight" (or "Edit Wrap Points") from the drop-down list.
If your text watermark is too long, please refer to how to wrap a watermark to have it in multiple rows.
