Andalusia Day

Andalusia Day is a regional holiday in the autonomous community of Andalusia in Spain, and it is observed on February 28 each year.

Andalusia Day commemorates the 1980 Andalusian autonomy initiative referendum. On February 28, 1980, people were asked to vote to organize the provinces of Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, and Seville into an autonomous community of Spain throughout the legal procedure.

94.2% of votes were considered valid in the referendum, and 64.2% of votes were in support of the bill, which made Andalusia an autonomous community of Spain.
