How to Add Line Number by Increasement in Word

There are many different ways displaying the line numbers in the word document. If you think it is too much adding the line number to each row, you can add line numbers with an increase. This will add the line numbers only to some lines to make the document look better. For example, you can add line numbers with an increase of 2 so you add line numbers to every other line. Please see the steps below:

Step 1: Click the "Layout" tab from the ribbon;

Step 2: Click "Line Numbers" and select "Line Numbering Options" from the drop-down list;

Step 3: In the "Page Setup" window, click "Line Numbers" at the bottom;

Step 4: In the new dialog box, check "Add line numbering", and select "2" in the "Count by" box;

Step 5: Select "Continuous" and click "OK" two times to finish.
