When working with a Word file, especially the contract documents, you may often need to add a signature line at the end of the file. Please see below for details:

Step 1: Click the "Insert" tab from the ribbon;

Step 2: Click "Add a Signature Line" in the "Text" section;

Step 3: In the "Signature Setup" window, type the person's name in the first box and type the job title in the second box, or leave these boxes empty if for the general purpose;

Step 4: Click "OK" and the signature line will appear on the word file.

When adding a signature line with the method above, it comes with a big "X". If you do not like this, you can use the following method to add a signature line.

Step 1: Move the cursor to the end of the document, and click "Table" from the "Insert" tab in the ribbon to make a 2×2 table;

Step 2: Select the table and click "Border" from the "Home" tab, then click "Borders and Shading";

Step 3: In the "Borders and Shading" dialog box, remove the surrounding borders and put a thick white border in the middle;

Step 4: Now you have two lines for signature as below.
