National Heroes Day (Cayman Islands)

National Heroes Day is a public holiday in the Cayman Islands, and it is observed on the fourth Monday in January each year. The holiday is to honor those national heroes who have provided exceptional services to the country.

In 1993, the Legislative Assembly passed the National Heroes Law, and in 1994, Hon. James (Jim) Manoah Bodden was named the first national hero. National Heroes Day became a public holiday in the Cayman Islands in 2003 when celebrating the tenth anniversary of the National Heroes Law.
