Utkal Divas, also known as Odisha Day, is a regional holiday in the state of Odisha, India, and it is celebrated on April 1 each year.
Utkal Divas is to celebrate the formation of the state as a separate state out of Bihar and Orissa Province on April 1, 1936. The state was originally called Orissa and renamed Odisha in March 2011.
