Union of the Romanian Principalities

Union of the Romanian Principalities, also known as Little Union Day, is a public holiday in Romania, and it is observed on January 24 each year.

Union of the Romanian Principalities commemorates the unification of the two Romanian Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia on January 24, 1859, after a long historical process. The union of the two Principalities was considered the first step toward the Romanian nation's most important political goal to achieve a unitary Romanian state, which was achieved on December 1, 1918, called Great Union Day.

Great Union Day is a public holiday in Romania celebrating the unification of Transylvania, Bessarabia, and Bukovina with the Romanian Kingdom in 1918.
