The formula bar is a box right above the sheet and below the commands in Google Sheet. The contents or the formula of the cell with the cursor will display in the formula bar. The formula bar by default shows in the sheet, however, in some situations, you may need to hide to save more space for the contents. Please see below for details:
Step 1: Open a Google sheet and click any cell in the sheet;
Step 2: Click the "View" tab from the ribbon;
Step 3: Click "Formula bar" in the drop-down list;
Step 4: The formula bar will disappear after.
To bring back the formula bar to the sheet, please repeat the same steps.
– If there is a checkmark in front of the "Formula bar", the formula bar shows in the Google sheets.
– If there is no checkmark in front of the "Formula bar", the formula bar hides in the Google sheets.
If you work with Microsoft Excel, you can also show or hide the formula bar with similar steps.
