Orangemen's Day, or Battle of the Boyne, is a provincial holiday in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, and is observed on the Monday closest to July 12.
The holiday is celebrated by people with a Protestant Irish or Scottish background to commemorate the Battle of the Boyne in 1690 outside Drogheda, a place is located in the Republic of Ireland today.
Provincial government offices are closed, and many stores, recreation centers, and business are open as usual.
