Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday before Easter, and it is an important Christian holiday that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles and the Washing of the Feet.

According to the Gospel of Luke, chapter 22, he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." After supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you".

According to the Gospel of John, chapter 13, while the meal was in progress, he wrapped a towel around his waist, poured water into a basin, and began to wash his disciples' feet. This is to set examples for his disciples that "no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him."

Maundy Thursday is a public holiday in many countries. The following is the list of Maundy Thursday from 2022 to 2026.
