Kharchi Puja

Kharchi Puja is a Hindu festival in the state of Tripura, India, and it is observed on the 8^th day of the new moon in the month of July.

The word "Kharchi" means "Earth" and Kharchi Puja is a festival to worship the earth, along with the 14 Gods. During the festival, the 14 Gods are carried to the Saidra river to give a bath, then they were carried back to the temple and decorated with flowers and vermillion. Another important part is the animal sacrifice to god including sacrificing of Goats and Pigeons.
