Sometimes you may need to insert special symbols in a word file. For example, You can insert a checkmark to indicate the concept is positive, or you can insert an X check to indicate the concept is negative. Please see the steps below for details:
Step 1: Click the "Insert" tab from the ribbon;
Step 2: click "Symbol" in the "Symbols" section, then click "More symbols" from the drop-down list;
Step 3: Select "Wingdings" in the "Font" box;
Step 4: Move the scroll-bar to the bottom and you will see the checkmark and the X mark in the table;
Step 5: Click on the one you need and click "Insert" at the bottom, the symbol will appear in the word.
Step 6: Click "Close" when you selected all the symbols;
Step 7: If you need more check marks (or X marks), you can copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the one you just inserted;
Step 8: If you want different formats such as a bigger font, a different colour or any other formats, you can format them in the same way as other text from the "Home" tab;
